Yodeck is an online service, so you need an Internet connection to sign in and manage your monitors yourself.
A Yodeck-supported playback device is required for each monitor. We currently support the following options:
Yodeck Player (Raspberry Pi): A dedicated hardware player provided by Yodeck for optimal performance. Comes free with our Annual Plan.
Web Player: If your TV or monitor has a modern web browser, you can use the web-based player directly without additional hardware.
Android Player: For TVs or devices running Android, use the Yodeck app.
Samsung Tizen Player: Compatible with Samsung TVs running Tizen OS (up to Tizen 7).
Amazon Fire OS Stick and Third-Party Devices: Devices like Amazon Fire Stick or BrightSign can be plugged into your TV to act as a player.
For smart TVs, the need for a Yodeck player depends on the TV’s app support:
If your smart TV supports installing the Yodeck app via a compatible app store (e.g., Google Play Store or Samsung’s app environment), you may not need a Yodeck player.
If the Yodeck app is unavailable for your TV, using a Yodeck player is recommended for a reliable setup.
Internet connectivity for the Yodeck Player devices installed is usually wireless (WiFi) or wired (LAN).
If you operate multiple screens across various locations, each screen will require its own Yodeck player and license to display content. For co-located displays, you can utilize an HDMI splitter to connect multiple TVs to a single player. When displaying the same content on multiple TVs, the hardware and licensing requirements depend on the setup:
Different Locations: Each TV in a different location requires its own Yodeck player and license. You can configure both screens to display the same content from your Yodeck account, but separate hardware and licenses are necessary.
Co-Located TVs: If the TVs are in the same location and can share the same signal cable, you can use a physical HDMI splitter to display the same content without needing additional players.
