F.A.Q.s
Got questions? We’ve got answers! This section addresses common questions about the My Apps list and the App Gallery.
Can I organize my apps into folders?
Yes. You can create folders using the + Add Folder button. Folders are global and can help you organize apps alongside other media types.
What is the difference between duplicating an app and creating a new one?
Duplicating an app copies all its existing settings and configuration, allowing you to make small adjustments without starting from scratch.
Creating a new app starts a fresh configuration using the default template of that app type.
If I update an app that is already used in multiple playlists, do I need to update each playlist manually?
No. Apps are reusable components. When you edit and save an app from the My apps tab, the updated version is automatically reflected in every playlist and screen where that app is used.
What happens if an app used in a playlist is deleted from My apps?
If an app is deleted, it will no longer be available in playlists where it was used. It is recommended to review active playlists before deleting apps.
Is the smart search bar in the "Discover apps" tab case-sensitive?
No. The search function is not case-sensitive. You can type in uppercase or lowercase letters and receive the same results.
Are newly released apps automatically added to my My apps list?
No. Newly released apps appear in the Discover apps tab and are marked with a “New” chip. They are added to My apps only after you create them.
Does the order of apps in My apps affect how they appear on screens?
No. The listing order in My apps is for management purposes only. Screen display order is controlled by playlists.
Do changes to an app update automatically on all screens where it is used?
Yes. When you edit and save an app, the changes are applied everywhere the app is currently used.
Is there a limit to how many apps I can create?
No. There is no limit to the number of apps you can create on any plan.
Are there different apps available for different paid plans?
Yes, there are certain apps that are only available to Premium and/or Enterprise plans. To create and use those apps, you will have to be on those paid plans.
